Many Arsenal supporters are starting to become frustrated with the Gunners’ inaction in the transfer market this summer, with the club clearly in need of a new striker.

Midfielder Granit Xhaka has joined from Borussia Monchengladbach, while Japanese forward Takuma Asano has also arrived at the club, but further signings are surely required if the Gunners are to stand a chance of winning the Premier League for the first time in 12 years.

Here’s a round-up of all the latest news surrounding the club.

Thierry Henry has left Arsenal after turning down the offer to coach the Gunners’ U18 team. Henry, the club’s all-time record goalscorer, was offered the position but felt that he couldn’t combine the job with his media work with Sky Sports. The Frenchman was part of Arsenal’s coaching staff at youth level last season but will now have to look elsewhere in order to complete his pro licence. (Thierry Henry’s official Twitter account)

Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Gonzalo Higuain as they close in on a deal for the Napoli forward. Higuain, who has been linked with Arsenal on several occasions in the past, has turned down the offer of a new contract at Napoli and is thought to be open to the possibility of leaving the Italian club this summer. Julian Draxler created six chances at Euro 2016.

Arsenal are interested in signing Juventus defender Daniele Rugani. The 21-year-old, who was named on the reserve list for Italy’s Euro 2016 squad, has been strongly linked with a move to Everton. However, Arsenal are now preparing to make an offer as they seek to bolster their options at centre-back. (Daily Star)

Arsene Wenger has reportedly held talks with Julian Draxler’s agent in an attempt to persuade the Schalke player to join Arsenal. Draxler, who impressed for Germany at Euro 2016, is capable of operating as an attacking midfielder or out wide and is said to be keen on a move to the Gunners. Signing such a star quality player would help to satisfy the Arsenal supporters, many of whom are growing increasingly frustrated with the club’s lack of transfer activity. (Daily Star)

Inter Milan have declared that striker Mauro Icardi isn’t for sale amidst reported interest from Arsenal. The 23-year-old had been seen as a potential solution to Arsenal’s attacking problems, but it now appears that manager Arsene Wenger will have to look elsewhere in his pursuit of a new forward. Arsenal have edged closer to a deal for Neven Subotic, with the defender interested in joining the club. The Borussia Dortmund player has been given permission to speak to other clubs, with Subotic seeking to sort out his future before the season gets underway. Arsenal could benefit from having an extra option at centre-back, especially with Per Mertesacker in the final year of his contract. (90 Min)
