Kipchumba Murkomen chased away,almost beaten

- Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has been bashed by residents in his home area for failing to bring developments

- This was during a church service in Marakwet on September 31, 2016

- The residents have vowed to vote him out during the 2017 General elections

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen was over the weekend forced to storm out of a political rally in Marakwet after residents dared to attack him for failing to bring development projects in the area.

The meeting had been organised by local churches together with the county government. Kipchumba Murkomen

The senator had to scamper for safety as he left the charged venue in a huff accompanied by Keiyo South MP Jackson Kiptanui and William Kisang of Marakwet West.

Residents have been complaining about the increased rise of crime in Marakwet from alleged cattle rustlers.

The locals are said to have told Murkomen that they will support his opponent in the coming General elections set for next year.

The senator is likely to face serious competition from former police boss David Kimaiyo who has announced that he will seek the seat currently held by Murkomen in the coming election.
